Frequently asked questions

Is it free? Do I need an account?

Yes, it is completely free and you never need to sign up. The service is funded by ads on our website — short links send visitors straight to the destination without an ad page.

How do I see click statistics?

After you shorten a link you get a management link that shows total clicks, clicks per day, referrers, countries and devices for the last 30 days. It is shown only once, so save it — it cannot be recovered.

How long do short links last?

You choose: 1 day, 7 days, 30 days, 1 year, or never. After a link expires, visitors see a page explaining that the link has expired.

Can I edit or delete a short link?

You can delete a link from its management page. Changing the destination is not supported yet — delete the link and create a new one instead.

Does shortening the same URL twice give the same short link?

No. Every time you shorten a URL you get a new short link with its own statistics, so you can track campaigns or channels separately.

Why can't I shorten some links?

We reject URLs flagged as phishing or malware, domains on our blocklist, anything that is not http or https, and our own short links.

How do I report a suspicious short link?

Use the “Report a link” page. We review reports and disable links that break our terms as quickly as possible.

Can I see where a short link goes before opening it?

Yes. Add + to the end of any Lyzo short link (for example lyzo.cc/aZ3kQ9x+) to preview its destination, or paste a link from any shortener into our link checker.
